- Production of liquid biofuel through thermochemical conversion of lignocellulosic biomass
- Bio-oil upgrading for transportation fuel by catalytic process technology
- Analysis of lignin characteristics and improving lignin processing in the biorefinery
- Manufacture and application of porous bio-adsorbent for purification using biochar

2. Recruitment Information
◌ Number of applicants: 1-2 students
◌ Degree: master’s course (full time)

◌ Research Topics for master degree
1) Studies on production of liquid biofuel from various biomass by fast pyrolysis
2) Studies on upgrading of bio-oil to highly efficient liquid biofuel for transportation or power generation
3) Manufacture and utilization of the lignin-based carbon aerogels
4) Studies on the lignin-based biorefinery process by catalytic depolymerization

◌ Requirements
1) TEPS 298(Old TEPS 551) or TOEFL score 79 or higher
2) graduate or pre-graduate from a 4-year university 

   (pre-graduates can work at the lab before entering the Master's course)
